Hello from sunny Singapore : Greg Choong !

Hello my friends,

Thanks to Olivier and Francois for inviting me here and their assistance in helping me configure the portal so I may navigator better in your Forum. My apologies I don't speak French, so I still need my google translator to read most of your posts!

I'm Greg Choong from Singapore and loves all things Brompton, especially the Older Bromptons. I founded and run the Older Brompton Bicycles Facebook group (OBB)  and I'm committee member of Brompton Riders @ SG group with 1600 members where we organize many activities both in Singapore and the region (so far Asia) for our members to ride Bromptons together.

Every year we have a BR@SG day, usually on May 1st and we have our Brompton Day Singapore where we do group rides with competitions related to brompton and lucky draws too. This year, we did a Brompton Day promotional video to notify and attract Brompton riders, both locally and from the region to join in the fun. I own 6 Bromptons, two Mark 1s from the 80s, a 97 Mark 2, a 2013 M2R black, a 2013 H6Rx and Alfine 11 powered Purple B

I'm very much like to hook up with lovers of Older Bromptons, and hopefully we could have a ride together sometime soon Have a great week ahead my friends!

Greg m'a contacté en juillet après avoir découvert mes photographies de "vieux Brompton" publiées sur Flickr.   J'attendais,  depuis deux ans, qu'un passionné de Brompton comme Greg me contacte.   Plusieurs semaines se sont écoulées,  j'ai participé à plusieurs balades à l'étranger.   Enfin, j'ai eu du temps et nous avons discuté un peu par email ces derniers jours.  

François (franb) a écrit des comptes rendus de la vie cycliste à Singapour ces derniers mois.  Quelques-uns de ses textes font partie du Florilège.     Par chance, François et Greg se connaissent déjà.  Je le suspectais : François et Greg me l'ont confirmé.

Greg lisait déjà un peu le Bromptonforum, qui,  comme on le sait,  est le meilleur forum, en tout cas le plus diversifié sur le Brompton, tant par ses contributions, ses sujets, ses actions... que par son public.   Peter Griebel de Brompfication ne disait pas autre chose :  "you guys are always so detailed.  Very nice forum buy the way, think it's the most active one about Brompton. Just a shame for me, that it is in french".

J'ai insisté auprès de Greg pour qu'il devienne membre et pour qu'il se présente.   Maintenant à Singapour, il y a une "antenne locale" du Brompton Forum bien ancrée.    Avec Greg, avec François et avec vous,  je pense que les futurs échanges seront très enrichissants pour tous.

Francois is an active Brompton rider in Singapore and he has participated in many of our group rides, including the Charity ride where we delivered half of tone of rice to the nee dies on our Bromptons, rain or shine! I'm not able to post the pix yet, I'm sure Francois has many them, including some taken by me, especially the one we helped fix his puncture along the way LoL.

Yes, sorry, but I don't find the flag's smiley for Singapore (Fredo, please help us, the Singapore flag is missing). This one is almost the same.

A nice group shot Olviier! Is this a Brompton Specialty shop? When is France getting its Junction? and which Mark 1 would be slated for it?

No lah (*), I missed this ride... Actually I joined my very first cycling event early 2014, it was "See and Be Seen 2014", very shiok shiok(**)!

(*) En Singlish ou Menglish : "lah" n'a pas de signification particulière, c'est plutôt une forme d'exclamation. Sa variente "leh" sert à souligner un propos.
(**) "Shiok" signifie "great", "super" en Singlish

Right, this Charity ride is a good and useful experience! Thanks to BR@SG and Mono for giving us the opportunity to participate.
The next one will be more difficult because we will deliver the rice to Jurong

PS : Yes, a shop where you can find Brompton and other bikes.  Not yet a championship in France this year. Benelux (Belgium - Netherland distribution area) was more dynamic about that : tribute to Simon Koorn !
